Corona Virus Stats App

The overview for this project was to create an app that helps people view stats on the Coronavirus in their country to see how they are effect. This will help them protect themselves. It is also and app to ask questions and talk to someone online if you are feeling lonely etc. The app also acts as a symptoms tracker, so people can put in their symptoms to see if they have Corona. Overall the project works well and can help people through this pandemic. 
Problem
People might not keep up-to-date with the news. This app will help people view stats to people who can't get out the house or need help. People who are on furlough or lost their job might not have anything to do so they will be able to volunteer and help others on this app.
They want to conduct initial research to help determine specific problems, or pain points, users have with knowing the stats in their country about the Corona Virus their new app might be able to solve and show exact stats from each country. It will also have other features too.
It will basically be an all round knowledgeable app for keeping up-to-date on stats, volunteer, check your symptoms, find the nearest hospital and donate to the Covid -19 fund.

• People are lonely if they live by themselves 

Solution
The solution to this would be an app that helps people view the stats of the Coronavirus and updates them. From people who are isolating to deaths in their country. This will help people protect themselves and to also show if the virus has spread or not. The target audience will also be able to do a survey to check to see if they have symptoms. They will also be able to donate to the Covid-19 charity which helps with the NHS staff PPE equipment. A few other helpful options will be available such as FAQs and live chat.

Audience
The target audience would be people ages 21 - 60 + mainly people who are wary about the Coronavirus and want an update on the stats so they can protect themselves. They will also be able to check if they have the virus symptoms.

App Goals
The goal of the app is to increase peoples safety on the Corona Virus Stats app and also make money for the NHS charity 'Covid - 19' . Another big part of the app is to show the Corona Virus stats all over the world, so people are wary of what's going on in their country. The app should be easy to use and attract the target audience with bold, bright eye-catching colours.

Competitive Analysis

Strengths: Nice easy to use app, in the NHS colour. Very informative, you can check your symptoms & you can book appointments and order prescriptions on there.
Weaknesses: You need to create a NHS login. A lot of text on the page. Not much diagrams to show etc.
Concepts to include in redesign: Include not too much information but just enough. Don't overtake the user with text. Make it simple to use and use a nice bold colour.

Competitor Name 2: Castor COVID-19
Strengths: Nice easy to use app, bold colours shows temperature, symptoms etc very easy to use.
Weaknesses: You need to create a login before using. This takes some time
Concepts to include in redesign: Maybe don't have a login page as this takes too much time just use ' select country'

Strengths: Easy to use, don't need to log in. Colours are subtle. Show all the stats for the world and the country you selected
Weaknesses: Very basic app, shows all the stats but nothing more.
Concepts to include in redesign: Maybe show all the numbers of the full world stats on one page.​​​​​​​

Learnings
Overall learnings from this project is that, people will use this to enhance their safety and keep up-to-date with the world pandemic. It is a knowledgable app that people will feel safe using and gain real world information. If I was to do this project again I would maybe introduce a 'request groceries/ essentials' or even put in ' your local shopper' or something to help people who can't get out and retrieve their shopping.
